In the spring of 2006, the Austin Youth Orchestra program was featured on a promotional video by DOWNTOWN: As Austin As It Gets™. DOWNTOWN is a local production company that highlights the people, places, stories, and situations that make Austin unique. The various DOWNTOWN video series introduce viewers to Austin and encourage those who visit, live, work and play in the city to really explore all of the opportunities that Austin offers.
DOWNTOWN, produced by the Downtown Austin Alliance, Action Figure, and KLRU-TV, began airing on KLRU-TV in 2005 as a series of 30-minute programs. This thought-provoking and educational series has quickly become one of the most watched shows on Austin's Public Television Station.
